New Year, New You, New Beginnings

Do not wait until the conditions are perfect to begin. Beginning makes the conditions perfect. - Andy Cohen

An exciting chapter is commencing, and with the New Year bringing hope, excitement and curiosity it’s time to close the door on 2016 and fully embrace what 2017 has to offer.

We have devised our top 3 interiors tips on how to start the year off on a high.

1. Have a clear out

One of our worst habits as consumers is to collect and hoard unnecessary objects. Drawers, cabinets and tables overflow with junk which can make for an untidy home. It’s the time to incorporate minimalism by removing items that are not regularly used, bringing back a feeling of calm and serenity. Why not donate any unwanted items to charity shops, a way to help the community and de-clutter at the same time.

2. Switch up your décor

As humans it is in our nature to make resolutions, promises and set goals for the coming year. We are inspired by change and what better way to start the year then by switching up interiors. It is always a good idea to start with a blank canvas, crisp white symbolises cleanliness, newness and purity. Focusing on the positive, particularly after the dull months, can really have an impact on interiors; try warm colours such as reds, oranges, and pinks to contrast for a striking finish.

3. Re-accessorise

Redecorating the house every year may not be practical; however there are simple tactics which can be incorporated without too much time and effort. The simple ‘move furniture around’ trick can indeed alter the vibes of a room. Or create a feature wall with a quick lick of paint, tying in cushions and throws in the same colour tones to enhance décor. Also by hanging a new piece of artwork this can be quick and inexpensive, yet change the dynamic significantly.

Whether you choose to redecorate or select a few key pieces to change up the room, fresh interiors are the perfect way to start the New Year in your home.

Welcome 2017 in style!
