Celebrate Universal Children's Day

On November 20th every year, the world comes together to celebrate Universal Children’s Day. This day is dedicated to promoting children’s rights including the right to life, health, education and to be protected from violence and discrimination.

Keeping children safe is imperative and at Eclipse we pride ourselves in our development of child safety products.

We have developed several Child Safe by Design systems which are designed to fully address controls over safety. Young children can be in danger of strangulation from chains and cords, and removing these as much as possible makes the home a safer place. Our Child Safe by Design options remove any hanging cords or chains, so they are either motorised or operated manually.

One of our most popular options is Powershade, a luxurious and affordable motorised roller blind that can be operated at the touch of a button.

Further options include Senses tensioned pleated and venetian blinds, Slow Rise roller blinds, and wand operated vertical blinds, which are all Child Safe by Design. By developing a diverse range of products, we are able to give the customer more choice to select what would be best suited to their home.

For those products which are not Child Safe by Design, we have introduced a range of components ensuring they are still compliant with any child safety regulations. These devices are used to make any hanging cords or loops safer and have all been tested and certified to meet child safety requirements of BS EN13120.

Research shows that children respond well to bright colours, bold patterns and shapes which can be stimulating and beneficial for their development. At Eclipse, we offer a wide range of roller blind fabrics such as Nursery Rhymes, Woodland Story or Blast off, all filled with beautiful imagery perfect for a child’s bedroom. As well as being colourful, all our children’s designs are available as Blackout to help promote a good night’s sleep.

Universal Children’s Day promotes that children are the future, and it is our job to do what we can to keep them safe.
